WATCH: New Artist Winners Announced for the 2018 ACM Awards

The winners of the new artist categories have been announced ahead of the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards next month. Lauren Alaina, Midland, and Brett Young each received a phone call from Reba McEntire over the weekend to share the breaking news.
Alaina, Midland (Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy, Jess Carson), and Young have all earned their first-ever ACM Award wins for New Female Vocalist of the Year, New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year, and New Male Vocalist of the year, respectively.
Lauren Alaina is also nominated for Vocal Event of the Year for "What Ifs" with Kane Brown. Midland landed nominations for both Vocal Group of the Year and Single Record of the Year for "Drinkin' Problem" as well.
The 2018 ACM Awards will broadcast LIVE from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 15 at 8pm ET on CBS.
