If your child is under the age of 13, then they aren't allowed to have a Facebook page just yet. However, the social networking platform is rolling out a new "Messenger Kids" app for iOS devices.

According to Yahoo News, parents can download the app for their children before allowing them to send a text message or participate in a video chat. The child's contact list will consist of family and friends that have been parent-approved only.

Yahoo News reported that Facebook's new messenger app "will not show kids any advertisements or offer in-app purchases." Facebook has also included several tools for kids to report any form of cyber-bullying or harassment online.

Children will also have the ability to choose from a "kid-friendly" selection of stickers, masks, GIFs, and of course Emojis. The app was created for kids between the age of 6 and 12.
